This pen dates about 1930. These No 60 pens first appeared in 1921 and continued to be issued with changes, some minor, others major, for the life of the company.
Pictures taken before doing anything and I was going to polish it, align nib, fit new sac, etc.
And now after few hours of polishing, cleaning removing old sac and replacing with new one, of course it is not finished yet, but we are going there 🙂
Now I need to polish lower part of the cap, then I will gold plate, but already I am happy with its look. The only thing is that inscription ‘Wyvern No.60c MADE IN ENGLAND’ is almost polished off, you can still see it but you may use magnifying glass and specific angle of the light.
Hello Alex,
You’ve mentioned gold plating. Is this something you do yourself, or do you send it off for gold plating?
Regards,
Toby.
